Singapore seizes over 150,000 dollars worth of e-vaporisers
Singapore authorities have seized over 200,000 SGD worth of e-vaporizers in two separate operations. The products were intercepted at a warehouse and a checkpoint, with several arrests made in connection with the illegal imports.
Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) announced on Monday the seizure of e-vaporizers worth over 200,000 Singapore dollars (approximately 150,000 U.S. dollars), which were intended for sale in the country.
The authorities conducted two separate operations to intercept the illegal products.
The first operation took place on February 28, when the HSA discovered around 5,000 e-vaporizers at a warehouse in Sungei Kadut, in northern Singapore.
During this raid, two men, aged 31 and 32, were arrested.
In a second operation on March 1, ICA officers at the Tuas Checkpoint flagged a lorry entering Singapore for enhanced checks.

Upon inspection, they found approximately 4,800 e-vaporizers.
The 24-year-old male driver of the lorry is currently assisting authorities with the ongoing investigation.
Singapore has implemented a strict ban on the importation, sale, distribution, possession, use, and purchase of e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and other imitation tobacco products in an effort to protect public health.
