Thief crushed to death while cannibalizing car
While he was jacking up the carcass of an abandoned vehicle in a deserted mechanic workshop at Idiroko, Ogun, a suspected thief made a slip, and the jack sank, with the vehicle crashing on him.
By the time the Ogun state security outfit So-Safe patrolled the area, the thief was already a dead man.
That is the theory the police is following so far in the death of an unknown man whose corpse stiffened under a fallen vehicle, with a jack, spanners, scissors around him.
According to the police, the incident happened at Ago Egun area of Idiroko border, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State.
So-Safe Commander Soji Ganzalo confirmed that the Idiroko Division of the Corps said the man was probably trying to force himself out under the long abandoned car marked, PKA 579 AA, when he gave up the ghost.
The body, according to him, was discovered at about 6pm at Ago Egun on Thursday.
“The body of the deceased and the items found at the scene – a red colour hydraulic and scissor jacks, and some sets of spanners— were taken to the Nigeria Police, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution,” he stated.
