Tinubu departs for Japan, Brazil, makes stopover at Dubai
President Bola Tinubu, on Friday at 11:15 a.m. local time, departed Abuja for a two-nation visit to Japan and Brazil. The president would make a stopover at Dubai.President Tinubu was initially scheduled to depart Abuja on Thursday, and no reason was given for the change in his travel plans.
A statement from the State House on Friday indicated that the President will stop over in Dubai before heading to Yokohama, Japan, for the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development, TICAD9, from August 20 to 22.
The meeting will focus on Africa’s economic transformation, improving business environments, and promoting peace and stability.
President Tinubu will also hold bilateral talks and meet Japanese company executives investing in Nigeria.
From Japan, he will travel to Brasilia for a two-day state visit from August 24 to 25, at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, to hold talks, attend a business forum, and witness the signing of agreements between both countries.
