Tinubu has no Muslim Agenda, PDP lost for disregarding zoning – Wike
Former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, on Tuesday, stated in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, that President Bola Tinubu has no Muslim Agenda in the choice of Kashim Shettima for vice president in the 2023 general election. The former governor attributed the Muslim agenda insinuations to the handiwork of those he described as lazy politicians. He said that the refusal to abide with the zoning of the president cost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the 2023 presidential election.
Wike commended the emergence of President Bola Tinubu, saying that it was in line with the laid-down zoning formula. He maintained that the controversies over a “Muslim agenda” in the Tinubu/Shettima joint ticket were machinations and “accusations of lazy politicians”.
Former Governor Wike was of the view that God gave the All Progressives Congress (APC) a second chance to repent of the sins they committed against Nigerians.
According to him, “APC should be in jubilation that God has given them an opportunity at the cost of PDP. God gave APC the opportunity to repent from the sins they committed against Nigerians.”
Wike said that the PDP relied “on the numbers” and, therefore, failed to abide by its zoning principle, noting that this cost the party the February 25 presidential election, giving the APC the chance to emerge victorious.
