Tinubu promises to end NNPC monopoly of petrol supply, moves for open market competition
President Bola Tinubu at a meeting with oil marketers at the State House, Abuja, promised to end the monopoly of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited as the sole importer of petrol, and distributor to other oil marketers in Nigeria.

The President disclosed that his administration is totally committed to a competitive, stable and transparent oil market. He challenged the marketers to work with the government to ensure regular supply and convenient access to fuel products across the country at the lowest possible price.
President Tinubu in a tweet on his official twitter handle on Thursday, declared:

“At a meeting yesterday with representatives of major oil marketers’ associations, in the course of the discussions, I emphasized my administration’s total commitment to a competitive, stable and transparent oil market and challenged the marketers to work with the government to ensure regular supply and convenient access to fuel products across the country at the lowest possible price.”
