Tinubu says Nigerians inherit speaking in tongues, confused about nationhood
APC’s presidential candidate Bola Tinubu said Nigeria’s diversity is a promise of prosperity though the citizens are confused about their nationhood.
Tinubu spoke at the 70th birthday celebration of Sokoto Catholic Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah in Abuja on Wednesday.
“I listened to the panelists; we appear to be in confusion about our nation,” the former governor said.
“We inherited speaking in tongues from the Bible but our diversity is a promise for prosperity.”
Religion, especially the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling APC, has been generating a lot of angst across the nation, with some saying it’s Islamization agenda.
And other candidates, especially Peter Obi of the LP who has been visiting churches, have been accused of taking advantage of churches to win the 2023 presidential election.
Kukah himself, who initially said it was APC’s right to choose a wining strategy, later turned around to criticise the same-faith ticket.
