Trump urges Zelenskyy to halt strikes on Russian diesel refineries
United States President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to immediately stop military strikes on Russian diesel refineries, warning that the attacks are contributing to a global fuel shortage.
Trump made the call on Sunday while speaking to reporters, saying the continued targeting of Russian oil facilities was “hurting the world” by disrupting diesel supplies.
According to the US president, Zelenskyy must halt attacks on Russian diesel infrastructure, although Ukraine could continue targeting other facilities involved in the conflict.

“He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia,” Trump said.
Trump attributed the current disruptions in global diesel markets to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine rather than tensions in the Middle East.
He said his administration had raised the issue directly with Zelenskyy, stressing that Washington did not want Kyiv to target oil refineries.
The US president’s remarks come amid concerns over fuel supply disruptions and the wider economic impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on global energy markets.
