Villarreal defeat Man. U to win EUFA Europa cup
Villarreal FC of Spain on Wednesday defeated Manchester United of England on penalty after 1-1 stalemate in regulatory time to win the final of the 2020/2021 Europa cup.
Villarreal scored their only goal in the first half of the final match while Manchester United equalized in the second half.
The score line remained 1-1 after both half pf the extra time, leading to penalty kicks. The penalty shootout was highly competitive as players of both teams scored all their 10 penalty kicks. Manchester United lost the last penalty kick taken by the goalkeeper. Thus, Villarreal won 11-10 in the penalty shootout.
