Why Mourinho publicly apologized to Henrikh Mkhitaryan
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
Jose Mourinho has revealed he apologised to Henrikh Mkhitaryan in front of all of his players after hooking the Armenian at half-time against Derby.
After a goalless first half, the Manchester United boss withdrew Mkhitaryan in order to get the club’s top scorer Romelu Lukaku into the action.
The 28-year-old, who has struggled to make the first team recently, didn’t have the best of first halves, either.
But Mourinho’s tactical switch paid off when Lukaku set up man of the moment Jesse Lingard to score in the 84th minute.
