Wife insist on divorce in spite husband`s plea
An Area Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday dissolved an Islamic marriage between Abdul Mukaila and Rahimat Mukaila
The presiding Judge, AbdulQodir Ahmed said that Rahimat who wanted wants the court to dissolve the marriage did not give any reason.
Ahmed said that all efforts to plead with her to consider the husband and continue with the relationship was not successful.
Mukaila told the court that the wife left the house one year after their marriage, adding that he had visited the parents’ house on many occasions but was told that his wife traveled.
He said that tried to talk to her at one occasion when they met, but she refused and left, adding that the court should plead with her.
The Judge said that marriage should not be enforced on anybody, whether husband or wife to avoid problem.
He, therefore, dissolved the marriage and granted the custody of the child to the wife.
The court reminded her that she must observe three months Hida period before marrying another man as stated in the Holy Quran.
