Blame Pro-Biafra agitators for Enugu killing – Tsav
•Absolves Fulani herdsmen from the massacre
An elder statesman from Benue State and retired Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, has said that Fulani herdsmen may not be responsible for the massacre of people in some communities in Enugu State. According to Tsav, it is clearly a case of giving the dog a bad name in order to hang it. He maintained that “Herdsmen may be innocent of these killings.”
“The killings in Enugu State could be the handiwork of Pro-Biafra agitators to incite the people against the Federal Government of Nigeria. Where will the Fulanis keep their cattles to engage communities in such bloody expedition?” Tsav contended.
The elder statesman lamented the statement of Governor Abiola Ajumobi of Oyo State prohibiting animal husbandry in the state. “The Oyo State Governor has declared that he will not welcome any grazing area in his State. You can see the conspiracy. It’s very sad indeed,” Tsav lamented.
He advocated that “The end to this tissue of lies is a judicial inquiry. Anything short of that may not solve the situation.”
The Enugu massacre has been burning issues across the country, causing apprehension of threat to national security.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Uguanyi, has visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, where he received reassurance of the President’s commitment to ensuring protection of lives and property in nay part of the country.
The President further convened a crucial meeting with governors of the 36 states of the Federation on the rising threat to national security.
