Blame delay on FG road projects on paucity of funds – Fashola

The Minister of works, power and housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola says the Federal Government is working hard to get contractors to complete all ongoing road projects across the country.
Fashola who spoke in Lokoja on shortly after a close door meeting with the outgoing governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada said that substantial funds for the completion of the roads had been included in the 2016 .
He blamed paucity of funds for the delay in the completion of many of the roads but said that some progress had been made.
Fashola who stated that he inspected various sections of the Abuja-Lokoja highway to ascertain their quality , stage of completion and problems stalling its early completion said that the
“ 2016 Budget , hopefully if passed will be able to address some of these problems “ noticed.
While in the state, the Minister said that he would take time out to inspect some federal roads rehabilitated by the Kogi State government.
“ They are making claims for them so we should be able to assess the roads , whether they have been done to specifications that will qualify them for reimbursement ,” he said.
He said that his team will also carry out inspection tours of Geregu thermal power station , Zango-Daji power injection sub-station and other power projects in the state.
