2023: Gumi speaks on Obi chances, Tinubu, APC Muslim-Muslim ticket
Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has revealed his take on the APC and the LP presidential candidates preparing for the 2023 presidential election.
The Islamic scholar however clarified that no party will find it easy-whatever their ticket is.
Describing APC’s Bola Tinubu as a good administrator, Gumi noted the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket gives no special advantage.
“We all know all these politicians are looking for votes. The Muslim-Muslim ticket is not about religion,” he said while fielding questions in Kaduna on Monday.
“Whether it will work or not, I don’t want to prophesy, but there are a lot of hurdles. In fact, all the political parties have hurdles.”
But he added Muslim-Muslim ticket is going to be a laboratory test for others to emulate or not.
As for LP’s Peter Obi, Gumi said the former Anambra governor must reach outside of his southeast.
Many have described Obi’s influence as limited to his southeastern region, and he has no inroad to the north yet.
Earlier, the National Daily reported how the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Christian caucus of the ruling party in the north claimed the pairing of Tinubu and Kashim Shettima is part of an Islamization agenda.
