22 soldiers killed in Niger State buried amidst tears
No fewer than 22 military personnel who died in combat in Niger State were on Friday, August 25, laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) had on August 14 announced the death of at least 36 officers who were killed when their helicopter was shot down by some insurgents in the Zungeru area of Niger State.

The troops were deployed to Kundu village in Wushishi Local Government Area after bandits terrorized the area recently.

Some of the deceased officers had already been buried by their various families, remaining the 22 being interred on Friday.
