Niger Police fire teargas towards protesting women
Policemen have fired teargas canisters towards protesting women to disperse them from the highway in Niger State.
Niger women on Monday morning protested over the high cost of living, blocking the Kpagungu axis of Minna-Bida Road in the Niger State capital city.
The protesting women, accused political office-holders of insensitivity to their plight even as they lamented inability to feed even once in a day.

The women, carrying a placard with the inscription “No food, we are dying of hunger”, demanded a better condition of living and a reduction in the cost of living for the citizenry.
The protest has caused traffic gridlock on the Minna-Bida Road, which is a link road to the South-West part of the country from the North-Central.
