Missing Akwa Ibom Job-seeking lady found dead
Iniubong Hiny Umoren, who went missing for three days, after she reportedly went for a job interview in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has been reportedly found dead.
Umoren’s friend, Uduak Umoh, in a terse post on Sunday confirmed the development saying “they raped and killed my friend”.
Recall that the Umoren’s mysterious disappearance sparked fear among friends and sympathisers, which prompted the creation of a hashtag – #FindHinyHumoren — to gather information on her whereabouts.
Umoren was last seen on April 29 before she went to honour the appointment with someone who promised her a job through Twitter chat after her post saying she was in need of a job.
Umoren wrote: “#AkwaIbomTwitter please I’m really in need of a job, something to do to keep mind and soul together while contributing dutifully to the organisation. My location is Uyo, I’m creative, really good at thinking critically and most importantly a vast learner. CV available on request.”
She was screaming for help on the phone, said one of her friends who established contact with her on the day she went missing.
“She sent me a 1sec audio record on WhatsApp and I had to call her back to know if she wanted to say something to me but immediately, I called her and I heard her screaming,” the friend, Uduak Umoh, tweeted.
The police said two persons have been arrested over the incident, and the anti-kidnapping squad in Akwa Ibom State was investigating the case.
Mourning Umoren’s demise, Umoh shared images of both of them. In the images, they both appear to be recent graduates.
In another terse post, she said “Guy we planned to serve in the same state. Don’t do this @HinyHumoren”.
“The killed my friend and they buried my friend” she added.
Also, many Nigerians have taken to social media to mourn her demise, some others warned youths especially job-seekers to be watchful and vigilant when searching for jobs especially getting offers from companies with strange names and addresses.
