2-year-old woman, son, 2 others in court for allegedly stealing motorcycle
A 52-year old woman, Patience Ayube and her son, Josiah on Wednesday appeared in a a Magistrates’ Court in Ile-Ife, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth N285, 000.
The police charged Ayube, Josiah alongside Oluwaseun Joseph, 22 and Friday Emmanuel, 20, were charged with two counts of conspiracy and theft.
The prosecution counsel, ASP Abdullahi Emmanuel, told the court that the defendants stole a Honda Motorcycle worth N285,000, property of the complainant, Emmanuel Akpan.
Healso alleged that the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breakdown of law and order at Texaco Area, in Ile-Ife.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendants also assaulted the complainant for accusing them of stealing.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 249(d), 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Olalekan Babatunde, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms.
Magistrate A.I Oyebadejo admitted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000each with one surety each in like sum.
Oyebadejo ordered that the sureties must swear an affidavit of means and adjourned the case until June 30, for definite hearing.
