Osun PDP nominates former Gov Oyinlola as consensus candidate for Deputy National Chairman

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in (PDP) in Osun State on Friday afternoon endorsed former Governor Olagunsuye Oyinlola as consensus candidate of the southwest for the position of Deputy National Chairman (South) at the party’s national convention in Abuja.

Professor Wale Oladipo, one of the contenders for the deputy national chairman, had stepped down at the ad hoc zonal convention for Prince Oyinlola, who was a National Secretary of PDP. Professor Oladipo took the decision to step down in the interest of the Party.

The PDP is forging stronger alliance in the evolution of consensus candidate for the various zones in the build up to the party’s national convention in October in Abuja to elect members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).

The PDP leaders in the north had earlier nominated Iyorcha Ayu as consensus candidate of the north for the national chairman of the party; the southeast had also nominated a consensus candidate for the national secretary.

Several party leaders, groups that endorsed  Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as southwest consensus candidate for the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), include Osun PDP Elephant Group, Osun PDP Idera De,

Osun PDP pathfinders, Adeleke Women of Substance, Osun PDP Leadership Forum, Osun PDP Rebirth, Osun PDP Alere, Osun PDP Forum of Chairmen, Osun PDP House of Assembly Aspirants Forum, Osun PDP National Assembly caucus, among others.
