Revealed! 360 Degrees Tower Project owns Ikoyi collapsed building
360 Degrees Tower project has confirmed ownership of the 21- storey building that collapsed on Monday afternoon in Ikoyi area of Lagos of Nigeria.
National Daily gathered that the developer of the structure, one of three that make up the 360 Degrees Tower project, Mr. Femi Osibona, had visited the site before the building caved in at about 2:30 pm.
This could not be independently confirmed as at the time of publication.
Commenting on the incident, the General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, disclosed that he has activated the agency’s emergency response plan to the above incident.
According to him, all first responders are enroute to secure the scene while the heavy duty equipment and life detection equipment have been dispatched.
We also gathered that Progress Engineering Limited, the main consultants to the 360 degrees project being developed by Osibona’s Forscore Limited withdrew from the project in February last year due to differences in “vison” about the project.
In a letter seen by our source, the company said it could only guarantee the structural integrity of two of the three residential towers being marketed as seven star luxuries living in the upscale Ikoyi area of Lagos.
Two of the three towers are still standing while the third has suffered a catastrophic structural failure. Video footage from the site circulating online seems to suggest that foam was used to fill some of the pillars.
Efforts to speak with Mr Femi Osibona are progressing as we continue to give you updates on the collapsed building.
