Anambra 2021: Candidates sign peace agreement
The various candidates of the political parties participating in the governorship election in Anambra on Saturday, November 6, on Thursday signed a peace agreement coordinated by the National Peace Committee in Awka, Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria. The 18 candidates signed the agreement to eschew from violence during the election in the arrangement by the National Peace Committee led by former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar.
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, witnessed the signing of the peace agreement.
The leading governorship candidates in the election include Prof. Charles Soludo of APGA, Emmanuel Andy Nnamdi Uba of APC, Valentine Ozigbo of the PDP, Ifeanyi Patrick Uba of YPP, among others, participated in the peace deal agreement on Thursday.
