Jonathan at State house to brief Buhari on Mali crisis, not to discuss 2023 presidential race
Contrary to reports of secret and brief consultations of negotiations for 2023 presidential ticket, former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that he was at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday to brief President Muhammadu Buhari on the crisis in Mali, as the Head of the ECOWAS Mediation Team, and acquaint the Nigerian President that the 16 members of the Economic Commission of West African State (ECOWAS) will be meeting in Ghana on Sunday to deliberate on the crisis in Mali.
ECOWAS leaders have rejected the military coup in Mali, denouncing unconstitutional takeover of government in the West African sub-region.
President Buhari reiterated his promise that Nigeria will do whatever it can to resolve the Mali political crisis within the treaties establishing the \ ECOWAS.
it is now made xlear that former President Jonathan was not at the State House to discuss the 2023 presidential election with President Buhari as being speculated.
