Electoral Bill: APC governors object to NASS amendment of these 2 clauses; PDP caucus warns Buhari

The National Assembly Caucus of the PDP has warned President Muhammadu Buhari has no reason to stall the assent to the amended electoral bill after the NASS reworked clauses te president had problem with earlier.

The party caucus made the call Tuesday during their caucus meeting with members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party at the National Assembly, Abuja.

Senate Minority Leader Enyinnaya Abaribe said having bent backwards as requested by President Muhammadu Buhari on the earlier rejected electoral bill, the proposed law should be signed without any delay.

If the president refuses to sig it again, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives Ndudi Elumelu said the APC governor are responsible.

According to him, the governors are lobbying the president not to sign the bill.

The reworked bill asks primary election contestants to resign before contesting, and, in case of a consensus, the party must secure the written agreement of others conceding.

These rephrases are said to have teed off some governors.
