Armed men kidnapped 10 persons from farm, demand N100m ransom
Armed men stormed a farm in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Council Area, Ondo State, kidnapping 10 persons from the farmland. The kidnappers demanded N100 million ransom for the release of the victims. The kidnapped victims were identified as Femi Alawiye, the owner of the farm, with nine of his workers in the farm.
The kidnappers were said to have lured the victims to the farm on Saturday evening with false information that the farm was on fire. The kidnappers paid ambush as the victims rushed to the farm to intervene in the fire outbreak which turned to be false alarm.
A member of the farmer’s family had disclosed that the kidnappers have contacted the family, demanding N100 million ransoms.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Funmi Odunlami, acknowledging the kidnapping incident, disclosed that the command is making efforts to rescue the victims unhurt.
