Russia has sustained bombardments after promising peace deal in the negotiation for ceasefire in Ukraine.
The governor of Chernihiv region, Ukraine, Viacheslav Chaus, on Wednesday cried out that bombing was heard all night after Russia proposed peace, lamenting that there is no let-up in attacks by Russia, despite its pledge to reduce military activity the region.
Viacheslav Chaus on Telegram messaging app, denounced Russia’s promise, saying: “do we believe in it? Of course not;” he agitated that Russia had bombarded Chernihiv “all night long”.
Air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv in the early hours of Wednesday, hours after Russia promised to withdraw some troops from around Kyiv.
Russia indicated on Tuesday, it would cut back operations around Chernihiv and Kyiv.
However, the deputy mayor of Kyiv, Mykola Povoroznyk, noted that Kyiv, itself, had not been shelled overnight, adding that although gunfire had been heard from battles around the city.
President Zelensky of Ukraine had conceded to the proposal to become a neutral state in exchange for security guarantees. Russia from the beginning had declared its mission to stop Ukraine from joining NATO.
