Andy Carroll threatened with gun
England international and West Ham player, Andy Carroll, 27, has been threatened at gunpoint by guns wedging bike men while on his way home from training.
The player, it was learnt, was driving his £100,000 Mercedes -Benz G-Class.
The incident happened few minutes after he left West Ham’s Essex training ground. He was said to have been accosted by two bikers who pulled up alongside the striker and then one of them pointed a gun at him.
The striker, then immediately sped off in panic with the two bikers in heavy pursuit, but he managed to lose them. He immediately returned to the well secured Essex training ground.
His team-mates were said to be alarmed as they struggled to grasp his word while the club staff immediately rushed to his aid, left the striker ‘shaken’.
The club while confirming the incident are making plans to beef up security around the striker.
“We can confirm an incident targeting one of our players. The matter is being handled by police.”
A spokeswoman for MET police added.
