Lagos 2023: APC returns Speaker Obasa unopposed
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has returned the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, unopposed as the party’s candidate for the 2023 general elections in the state. The speaker emerged as the APC candidate for Agege Constituency 1.
There was no aspirant that contested the ticket with Speaker Obasa who was ratified with 25 votes by the delegates. Party stakeholders said the primary election in the constituency was mere political ritual after the godfather, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had endorsed the Speaker and some other political actors in the state.
An aspirant, Dada Olusegun, was absent at the primary election.
