Bandits kill many indigenes, rustle cattle in invasion of four Communities in Zamfara
Bandits invaded four communities in Zamfara State in fresh attacks, killing many locals, injuring several others, and kidnapping some.
The invaded communities were identified as Gidan Dan-Inna, Gwaji, Karoka in Kwai- Kwai District and Faru, in Faru District of Bungudu and Maradun local government areas. The fresh attacks occurred last Sunday and Monday.
Maradun is the home of Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.
Four persons were said to have sustained injuries from gunshots, while several locals were kidnapped by the bandits. Majority of the people killed were identified as members of the Local vigilante group watching over their communities and farmers attacked in their farmlands.
The bandits were said to have invaded the communities with sophisticated weapons, killing, rustling cattle, and destroying properties of the locals.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Command, Shehu Mohammed, had acknowledging the attacks, disclosed that 20 people were killed in three villages in Bungudu local government, while five persons were killed in Maradun Local Government Area.
The PPRO revealed that four locals sustained injuries from gunshots and were receiving medical treatment in an undisclosed health facility in the state.
Police personnel were said to be deployed to the communities, while security operatives have commenced search for the stolen cattle.
