Necessity must have occasioned this because spared whatever they could do to truncate the victory—from public spat and cussing to plotting the entrance of former President Goodluck Jonathan, tweaking the party rulebook to scale back Tinubu’s profile, and outright imposition of a so-called consensus candidate.
But the former Lagos State governor won the presidential ticket at the primary in Abuja, against 13 aspirants, including V.P Yemi Osinbajo.
In a letter Wednesday night, Adamu said, “I am pleased that the Party spoke with one voice when the delegates voted overwhelmingly to nominate you as our presidential candidate.”
Adamu expressed hope that efforts between the national secretariat and Tinubu’s campaign team “will proceed with the shared expectations of victory at the 2023 general elections, by the grace of God”.
In his own letter, Aregbesola described Tinubu as a fighter, claimed he deserved the victory, and the APC leader should lead them on to win the general election.
Buni, the party former caretaker chairman, said it is now tie to rally round their presidential candidate.
