What Obasanjo said about ‘Emi lo’kan’, ‘O lu ‘le’ when Tinubu visited

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu are not reveal so much of what they discussed when Tinubu visited—except the ethnic aspect of it which Obasanjo just revealed.

While speaking at the inauguration of a 300-man planning committee for the installation of the new Olowu of Owu, Obasanjo said he congratulated Tinubu on successfully adding to Yoruba vocabulary, and increasing its popularity.

During the back-and-forth that preceded the APC presidential primary, Tinubu told his audience at a meeting in Ogun that “emi l’o kan” and narrated candidate Muhammadu Buhari serial failure saying “O lu’le”.

The two Yourba statements became popular both in political circles and public affairs.

“We now have two vocabularies in the Yoruba dictionary: Emi l’o kan’ and O lu’le,” Obasanjo said.

“I asked Bola and he laughed. I said whether the vocabularies are good or bad, we have started using them.”
