How witch-hunters murdered 2 widows returning from morning mass in Cross River
Two widows have been murdered by witch hunters, mostly youths, of Ebbaken, Boki, in Cross Rivers, and the police have yet to investigate the matter.
Mrs Martina Osom and Mrs. Rose Akom were returning from a morning mass on August 2 when the youth mobbed them one after the other, beating them to confess they were witches.
She denied the allegation.
“But they went ahead and beat her severely, ordering her to confess that she is a witch,” her son-in-law was quoted as saying.
She pleaded still, but the lynch mob would not listen.
They went ahead, and dragged Akom to the scene, beating her as they forced her to confess she was a witch.
“They were both tied with strong ropes and beaten in the rain all through the day until they died,” he added.
Nobody could rescue or, and none called the police.
