Kano State Government, North-West Nigeria, has entered into an agreement for  partnership with China’s Fujian province to promote industrialisation and revolutionise the  agriculture sector, including establishment of ranching  of the state.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje at the China-Nigeria Business Dialogue on ways of leveraging bilateral Cooperation in promoting global development, was of the view that the proposed partnership between Kano State and the Fujian province, which is the commercial hub of China, will be mutually beneficial, especially in the area of ranching, which will discourage movement of herdsmen from one state to another, thereby reducing herdsmen-farmers clashes.

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, endorsed the partnership, noting that it aims at prioritising areas of trade and investment and to strengthen ties with Nigeria at all levels of government.

Participants at the dialogue include officials of the International Development Department of the Central Working Committee of the Communist Party of China(CPC), National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Fujian Province of China.
