IBLT appoints Okere of Saki as new Chancellor

The Okere of Saki, Oba (Dr) Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Ilugbemidepo Oyedepo III, has been appointed Chancellor of privately owned university in Togo, The Institut Superieur Bilingue Libre Du Togo (IBLT).

IBLT is a University established by a scholar and more than a decade University Administrator Dr. Peniel Danjuma AMANI on the 14th November 2010.

The traditional ruler’s letter of appointment was signed by the university’s founder, Prof. Peniel Danjuma AMANI, and made available to journalists at a colourful ceremony attended by dignitaries and other traditional rulers including Oba   Johnson Akinloyr  Olaoye  Olaewe II Alamodu of  Ago Amodu,Oba Joel Olawuwo Olasorogan the  Alepata of Igboho, and others

It said the monarch was considered for the appointment because of his contribution to society.

“The Founder, Board of Trustees and the Governing Council of the The Institute Superieur Bilingue Libre Du Togo (IBLT) would be most honoured if Your Royal Majesty, the highly distinguished Royal Father, the developer, the leader of leaders, and the liver of the people in the service of mankind, would very kindly accept to dignify the University as her Chancellor,” the letter reads.

Prof Danjuma expressed satisfaction with the peaceful atmosphere in Saki town, praying that he hoped other towns and communities would learn from Oba Kahlid and also promote peace in their various domains.

The monarch, while accepting the offer, assured the University of “support and best wishes”.

“Looking through the profile of your University, one cannot but be optimistic about the future of this young citadel of learning. I pray therefore, that The Most High and history would appreciate your contribution to human capacity development through education,” he said.

The highly revered traditional ruler who is also the Vice Chairman of Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs promised to work with the management of the university to bring positive changes and improve the standard to join the best 500 universities in the world.

It would be recalled that in 2021, the University conferred an honorary Doctorate award on the monarch for his immense contribution to the development and preservation of African culture and unity not just within his domain but also beyond the shores of Nigeria and his philanthropic works.

Institut Superieur Bilingue Libre du Togo (IBLT) was established in 2010 to contribute through technical and professional training and scientific research, to the realization of expected results aimed at African States.
