Man docked for allegedly stealing shoes worth N200, 000
A 23-year old man, Wisdom Nifu, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly stealing a bag of shoes valued N200,000.
The defendant is facing a one-count charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that Nifu committed the offence on Feb. 1.
He said that the defendant was arrested at Volkswagen area, Ojo, Lagos.
Uche said that the defendant stole a bag of shoes valued N200, 000 belonging to a trader, Mrs Mariam Idowu.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, L.J.K Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until April 7 for trial.
