Zelensky visits eastern war zone, begs EU, US for jets, missiles
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine visited the war zone in southern region of Kherson for on-the-spot assessment of the conflict with Russia. Zelensky addressing a summit of the European Union (EU) in Brussels via video link, after the visit to the frontline in Kherson, appealed for urgent military support, saying that “delays” in sending fighter jets and long-range missiles could prolong the war.
Zelensky, acknowledging EU plan to send one million artillery shells to Ukraine, tr=emphasised his demand for modern warplanes and missiles for more effective combat in reclaiming the country’s eastern region from Russian forces.
