Atiku Abubakar focused on current issues, – Responds to Bode George

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has addressed recent comments from Chief Bode George, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, who advised him to reconsider any ambitions for the 2027 presidency.

George suggested Atiku take a cue from U.S. President Joe Biden, who is stepping aside for a younger candidate in the upcoming U.S. elections.

In a response conveyed through his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku Abubakar emphasized that his current focus is on addressing the immediate hardships faced by Nigerians.

He criticized the current administration’s policies under President Bola Tinubu, highlighting widespread hunger and deprivation amid perceived abundance.

“Atiku Abubakar is focused on the immediate needs of Nigerians, not on the 2027 elections,” Ibe said.

“The priority is to tackle the pressing issues of today—addressing the severe impacts of failed policies and ensuring that citizens can survive the challenges brought about by the current government.”

Atiku also urged Chief Bode George to redirect his efforts towards advising the current administration on policy improvements, rather than discussing future political scenarios.
