In an era of rising healthcare costs and widening access gaps, the Loveworld Medicaid V.I.S.I.O.N 10,000 Free Eye Surgeries campaign has emerged as a beacon of hope, bringing life-altering transformation to thousands who have suffered the debilitating effects of visual impairment.
This visionary initiative offers completely free eye surgeries and medical support to individuals in underserved communities across Nigeria.
From cataracts to glaucoma and other preventable or treatable eye conditions, the program has not only restored sight—it has restored dignity, dreams, and livelihoods.
A Growing Legacy of Impact
Since its launch, V.I.S.I.O.N 10,000 has reached over 13,867 beneficiaries, operating in nine editions across key locations including Ikeja and Lekki in Lagos State, Abuja FCT, Port Harcourt, Benin City, and Warri.
“This is more than a medical outreach; it’s a movement of compassion and transformation,” said Dr. Amaka Adekoya, Programmes Officer of LoveWorld Medicaid. “We are reaching the forgotten, restoring their vision, and helping them rediscover life.”
Comprehensive Care and Services
The program provides end-to-end eye care, including:
  • Pre-surgical screening and diagnostics
  • Prescription eyeglasses and medications
  • Corrective and sight-restoring surgeries
  • Post-operative counseling and support
“All beneficiaries go through a well-structured process to ensure that the care they receive is personalized and effective,” Dr. Adekoya explained.
“Our goal is to provide holistic healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”
Tangible Social and Medical Impact
The outcomes of V.I.S.I.O.N 10,000 have been profound:
V.I.S.I.O.N 10,000
Restored Sight: Thousands have regained their vision, enabling them to return to work, care for their families, and participate fully in their communities.
Eliminated Financial Barriers: Free care has made quality eye treatment accessible to the poorest and most vulnerable.
Renewed Hope: Beyond medical care, the initiative has brought emotional and spiritual upliftment, giving many a renewed sense of purpose.
“Our mission includes spiritual restoration,” noted Dr. Adekoya. “People are not just receiving sight—they’re receiving hope.”
Godwin’s Story: A New Dawn
One such life is Godwin, who suffered from cataracts for 18 years. His condition cost him his livelihood and strained his social life.
But everything changed when he became a beneficiary of V.I.S.I.O.N 10,000.
“I can see colors, shapes, and faces again,” he said with tears in his eyes. “Now I can go back to work. My life has been given back to me.”
Looking Ahead: Vision Beyond Sight
The 10th edition of V.I.S.I.O.N 10,000 is scheduled to take place on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th May 2025, hosted by Christ Embassy Lagos Sub-Zone C.
The venue is 14/15 Channels TV Avenue, OPIC-Isheri Bus Stop, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
With each edition, LoveWorld Medicaid deepens its commitment to creating healthier, more empowered communities.
“Our dream is simple but profound—health for all,” said Dr. Adekoya. “We envision a Nigeria where no one is denied the gift of sight because they cannot afford it.”
