Residents of Orhionmwon East in Edo State have raised concerns over the stalled development of the Esige Comprehensive College Abudu project, citing allegations that funds allocated for the school’s construction and improvement have not been used as intended.

The project, aimed at enhancing educational facilities and benefiting the local community, remains incomplete despite significant budgetary allocations.

In light of the situation, stakeholders are calling on Hon. Atu, Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and representative of Orhionmwon East, to provide a detailed update on the status of the project.

The community is demanding clarity on whether the allocated resources have been properly utilized and what steps are being taken to ensure the school is completed.

Local residents emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the execution of public projects, warning that continued delays not only undermine education in the area but also erode public trust.

“This project was meant to uplift our community, but it is disheartening to see it remain incomplete. We expect our representatives to provide answers and ensure the funds are used for their intended purpose,” a community leader said.

The stalled project has sparked wider calls for vigilance over public funds and proper monitoring of educational infrastructure projects across Edo State.
