Terrorists have released the last six abductees who were kidnapped from Aiyetoro-Kiri community in Bunu land, Kogi State, bringing an end to a harrowing ordeal that lasted several weeks.

The development was confirmed on Wednesday by the Aiyetoro-Kiri Bunu Development Association (AKBDA) in an official statement. According to the association, the release followed intense negotiations and the payment of ransom, which culminated in the safe return of all victims.

The abductions occurred on December 14, 2025, when suspected bandits attacked a branch of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in the Aiyetoro-Kiri community, located in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area. During the attack, at least one person was killed and several parishioners were taken hostage.
