Jake Paul Announces Dubai Comeback After Joshua Knockout

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has announced plans to return to the ring on December 24 in Dubai, nearly a year after suffering a knockout defeat to former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.

The 29-year-old American confirmed on Thursday that he would headline a Christmas Eve boxing event organised by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). However, his opponent has yet to be announced.

Paul has not fought since Joshua stopped him in the sixth round of their heavyweight contest in Miami on December 19, 2025. The defeat left him with a fractured jaw in two places, requiring multiple surgeries.

Announcing his comeback, Paul said the setback had not weakened his confidence or ambition.

“I’ve spent years proving people wrong, taking risks, and pushing myself against opponents nobody thought I’d face. Nothing that’s happened has changed my belief in myself or what I’m working toward,” he said.

“I’m hungrier than ever, and on Thursday, December 24, I’m returning to the ring in Dubai to start the next chapter of my journey.”

Paul also indicated that several potential opponents were being considered but declined to reveal any names.

“We’ve got plenty of names on the list; let’s see who signs the contract. Merry Christmas, Dubai. Santa Paul is coming to town, and somebody’s getting knocked out,” he added.

MVP said further details, including Paul’s opponent, would be announced in the coming weeks. The event will mark his first professional fight in Dubai.

Paul enters the comeback announcement with a professional record of 12 wins and two defeats. His losses have come against British boxer Tommy Fury, who beat him by split decision in 2023, and Joshua in December 2025.

The Dubai event will offer Paul an opportunity to resume his boxing career after the most damaging defeat of his professional run, although the identity of his next opponent remains unknown.
