Atiku restates fate in PDP
- Settles scores with Secondus, Wike
Former Vice President Abubakar Atiku has restated his strong belief in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the new Party leadership. The former vice president who dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) penultimate week to rejoin the PDP, reaffirmed his warm relationship with the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, and other PDP stakeholders. He admonished against plots to pitch him against the PDP leadership and stakeholders.
Atiku in a statement by his media office, declared: “the purported statement aimed at pitching the Waziri Adamawa against the National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, PDP NEC, PDP Governors and stakeholders of the PDP is contrived and baseless.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Atiku Abubakar enjoys excellent relationship with Prince Uche Secondus, the Party’s NEC and all serving PDP Governors and stakeholders of the party.”
Certain social media platforms recently reported Atiku accused Secondus and Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike of hijacking the party, favouring a particular Presidential candidate and that he may soon leave the party.
On the other divide, Secondus was said to have described Atiku as a mole sent by the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari into the PDP to cause disaffection in the opposition party.
Secondus described the statement as “a laughable fabrication” and told Nigerians to expect more from such false claims in the coming days.
