Lagos Christians expresses regret voting Ambode, say they got better deal under Muslim govs
By LANRE ADESANYA
GOVERNOR Akinwunmi Ambode may likely have an axe to grind with some blocs within the Lagos State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) soon, with the dissatisfaction being expressed by some of the members of the body.
It will be recalled that the emergence of the Governor of Lagos state, was said to have been facilitated by the association which waged a strong campaign against the sixteen years uninterrupted hegemony of Moslem governors in the state, calling for a Christian Governor at all cost.
The group’s grouse with him is that he has fallen short of associating and identifying with them, unlike the previous administration, who, though were Moslems, never distanced themselves from CAN’s activities.

An aggrieved staunch member of the said group, who won’t like to be mentioned, confided in the National Daily that Ambode was absent even at the recent Interdenominational Divine Service (IDDS 2016) held at the Apostolic Church Convention Ground, Ketu Alapere, Lagos.
“We were not so poorly treated the past 16 years when Moslems were in the saddle. The Governor’s never for once missed our IDDS,” he said.
“Ambode should note that had it been we did not canvass for a Christian governor, he wouldn’t have emerged at all.”
