£100million: The cost of rebuilding Newcastle
Newcastle will give their new manager a £100million transfer budget as they look to re-invest money generated by player sales, according to reports.
Attacker Ayoze Perez joined Leicester in a shocking £30m deal while midfielder Isaac Hayden wants to leave St James’ Park and could fetch between £10m-£15m.
And the Daily Star claim that means whoever comes into replace Rafa Benitez following his exit last week will be handed significant funds to replace them and further strengthen the squad.
Owner Mike Ashley and director Lee Charnley had already promised a budget of £60m before any players were sold and that any cash raised would be pumped straight back into the squad.
