Abia appoints Edo-Born As Head of Service
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has underscored his commitment to meritocracy and national unity by appointing Mr. Benson Ojeikere, an Edo State indigene, as the Head of Service for Abia State. This historic appointment aligns with Governor Otti’s policy of “If you live in Abia, you are Abian” and exemplifies the spirit of inclusivity captured in Nigeria’s National Anthem: “Though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand.”

Mr. Ojeikere’s journey in Abia State began in the late 1990s when he served as a Youth Corps Member. His dedication and exceptional performance earned him the Best Corps Member award and an automatic employment offer in the state civil service. Over the years, he steadily rose through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as a permanent secretary in 2023 under Governor Otti’s administration.
