Access Bank Plc has pledged its full support for deepening financial inclusion among Nigerians in the diaspora, following the launch of the Non-Resident Bank Verification Number (NRBVN) platform by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS).
The NRBVN initiative marks a major milestone by allowing Non-Resident Nigerians (NRNs) to register for their Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) outside Nigeria—a critical step for accessing financial services in the country.
Roosevelt Ogbonna, Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank Plc, praised the move: “We commend the Central Bank and NIBSS for this bold step toward integrating millions of Nigerians abroad into the national financial system. Access Bank is proud to support this transformative initiative and remains committed to delivering solutions tailored to the diaspora’s unique financial needs.”

To support the NRBVN rollout, Access Bank has launched BVN registration services in strategic global locations, including the United Kingdom, the United States, various parts of Europe, and the Middle East.
Key offerings for diaspora customers include: Secure digital BVN enrollment via the NIBSS NRBVN platform; Instant account opening with Access Bank; Access to diaspora-focused products such as mortgage plans, solar financing, and lifestyle benefits; Investment options in Nigerian real estate, mutual funds, and fixed deposits; Multi-currency banking services in NGN, USD, EUR, and GBP and 24/7 access to a dedicated diaspora support team
This initiative aligns with the CBN’s broader goals to improve financial identity, boost remittance flows, and ensure inclusive access to banking services for Nigerians worldwide.
Access Bank urges Nigerians abroad who are yet to obtain a BVN to take advantage of the new platform. Details on enrollment and required documentation are available at www.accessbankplc.com/diaspora-community.
