Air chief wants north-east to contribute to intelligence gathering

Nigeria’s Chief of Air staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar has appealed to the people living in Northeast Nigeria to contribute to intelligence gathering as the ultimate panacea to ending insurgency.
The Air chief who was on a recent routine visit to the 69 Composite Group in Maiduguri told journalists that intelligence gathering is key to winning the war against insurgency.
According to him, “We should all be very observant on what is happening around and report to security agencies any suspicious movement. This is because intelligence is very important and everyone has a role to play.” Abubakar said.
On the state of equipments in the air wing of the theatre of operations, the chief said that “there is no system that is perfect we are always looking at areas of improvement and that is why from time to time these visits are very important to us.
“We discuss with our pilots and technicians to see the condition under which they’re operating to make sure that everything is fine.”
