Ali Ndume dismisses Daniel Bwala’s political relevance
Former Senate Chief Whip, Ali Ndume, has dismissed Daniel Bwala, the former spokesman for the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, as politically irrelevant.
Ndume cautioned President Bola Tinubu to be wary of Bwala, alleging that he is only useful for attacking political opponents.
Ndume’s remarks come amid recent public disagreements between him and Bwala over Ndume’s criticism of Tinubu. Ndume had previously accused Tinubu of being inaccessible to lawmakers and ministers amidst the ongoing economic hardships faced by Nigerians.

Speaking to journalists at his residence in Maiduguri, the Borno South senator stated, “We have credible people in the Hawul local government area, and they know who Daniel Bwala is. When I saw his message on X, I initially thought it was Inuwa Bwala, the former Caretaker Chairman of Hawul and a renowned journalist. He confirmed it was not him.
“Later, I understood it was Daniel Bwala, who has no political relevance in Southern Borno. Bwala is merely seeking sympathy from Mr. President.
“Bwala was once a member of the APC but later defected to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. Since then, he has been vocally critical of Tinubu, using abusive and insulting language on live television. Bwala is only useful for attacking people.”
Ndume’s comments reflect the ongoing tensions and political maneuvering within Nigeria’s political landscape as key figures and parties navigate alliances and rivalries.
