Allegation of fraud: EFCC arraigns Ondo Speaker in court
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday arraigned the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oloyelogun, in court over allegations of fraud.
Speaker Bamidele Oloyelogun arrived at the court at about 8.00am on Tuesday to answer to the charges. However, the trial did not hold because of the absence of counsel to commission.
EFCC, in March, invited the Speaker for interrogation on allegations of fraud in the State Assembly.
The commission had detained the Clerk of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Bode Adeyelu, and three other officials of the House for allegation on N2.4 million seminar misappropriation.
The appearance of the Speaker At the court stalled legislative activities on the floor of the legislature. House members stepped down all matters in solidarity with the Speaker.
