Goodluck Jonathan receives Global Citizen of the Year award
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has been conferred with Global Citizen of the Year Award by the University Of Port Harcourt Class 1981 Graduates – the Unique 81.
The University Of Port Harcourt Class 1981 Graduates – the Unique 81 – held a three day programme of reunion of the pioneer graduates of the University of Port Harcourt in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, at the weekend, where the award was given to the former President.
At the grand finale of the University of Port Harcourt class 1981 reunion programme, two lectures were delivered; Professor Lydia Abia-Bassey presented the first on Pause Syndrome; and Professor Emeritus Joe Alagoa presented the second lecture on the history of the University of Port Harcourt and the impacts their products are making in the society.
The three days reunion event ended with a gala night where former President Goodluck Jonathan and another alumni member, Stanley Lawson, received awards of excellence.
The Vice Chancellor of the Niger Delta University, Amassoma Professor Samuel Edoumiekumoh, another member of the reunion, pointed out the benefits of the reunion of the University of Port Harcourt class of 1981.
