The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its nomination and administrative fee structure for aspirants contesting in the upcoming Lagos State Local Government Elections scheduled for July 12.
According to election guidelines jointly signed by the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and Secretary, Dr. Adeola Jokomba, chairmanship aspirants are required to pay a nomination fee of N5 million, along with an administrative fee of N500,000.
Female aspirants for chairmanship positions will enjoy a concession, paying N2.5 million for the nomination fee while still paying the N500,000 administrative charge.
In a move aimed at encouraging youth participation, aspirants below the age of 40 will receive a 50% discount on the nomination fee but must still pay the full administrative fee.
Aspirants with disabilities will be completely exempted from paying the nomination fee but will pay a discounted administrative fee of N250,000.
For councillors positions, the party fixed the nomination fee at N1 million for male aspirants and N250,000 for female aspirants. The administrative fee for all councillorship aspirants is set at N100,000.

Youth aspirants in this category will also get a 50% discount on the nomination fee, while Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) will obtain nomination forms for free, with only a N50,000 administrative charge applicable.
The party clarified that there will be no separate fee for the Vice Chairmanship slot, as those contesting for Chairmanship will automatically cover it.
All payments must be made via bank drafts in favor of the All Progressives Congress, Lagos State chapter.
Chairmanship aspirants must secure endorsements from five registered party members who are voters in their local government area or Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Councillorship aspirants must present endorsements from 20 registered party members within their ward.
All aspirants must be Nigerian citizens, possess at least a school certificate or its equivalent (higher qualifications will be an added advantage), and present evidence of active party membership and loyalty.
Minimum age requirements are 30 years for Chairmanship aspirants and 25 years for Councillorship hopefuls.
Aspirants must sign and agree to abide by the party’s Code of Conduct.
The APC emphasized that only aspirants cleared by the Screening Committee will be allowed to participate in the party’s primaries.
In line with constitutional requirements, any party official seeking an elective position must resign their current office at least 30 days before the election or primary date.
The APC stressed that compliance with all constitutional and legal provisions is mandatory for aspirants seeking public office under its platform.
