Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder, Comrade Okedara Kolawole, has raised concerns over the dwindling state of the party’s foundation and has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC National Chairman to take urgent steps to recognize and appreciate the contributions of the party’s support groups and grassroots mobilizers.

In an open lette, Kolawole highlighted the alarming decline in synergy between the party leadership and its support base, warning that neglecting these loyal foot soldiers could further weaken the APC’s structure ahead of future elections.

He noted that prior to the President’s assumption of office, the party’s structure remained intact, but recent developments have led to a noticeable disconnect, with support groups feeling alienated and unappreciated.

According to him, this growing discontent poses a significant risk to the party’s unity and long-term stability.

Kolawole passionately appealed to the President to take decisive action by engaging in dialogue with aggrieved members of the party.

He stressed that reconciliation and solidarity are crucial to sustaining the strength of the APC, particularly as it navigates governance and political challenges.

Furthermore, he called for the revival of a robust reward system to acknowledge the sacrifices of party loyalists who played vital roles during the electioneering process.

Kolawole expressed concerns that many individuals who worked tirelessly for the party’s victory have been sidelined, while others with strong political connections have been rewarded with appointments.

In his concluding remarks, he urged the party’s leadership to embrace inclusivity by fostering peace and recognizing the contributions of all members.

According to him, prioritizing unity and fairness would reinforce the APC’s credibility and ensure the sustainability of its political dominance in Nigeria.

The letter has sparked discussions among party stakeholders, with many awaiting a response from the presidency and the APC leadership on the pressing concerns raised by Kolawole.

A prominent stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Okedara Kolawole, has written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, calling for urgent recognition and appreciation of the party’s support groups and grassroots mobilizers.

In the letter, which was made available to The Mirror, Kolawole expressed deep concerns over what he described as the deteriorating foundation of the ruling party.

He warned that the growing disconnects between the party leadership and its dedicated supporters could have serious consequences if not promptly addressed.

Kolawole pointed out that the APC had a well-structured and functional base before the President assumed office.

However, he lamented that this cohesion has since weakened, largely due to a lack of synergy between the leadership and the party’s support groups, who played crucial roles in securing electoral victories.

The APC chieftain urged the President to take decisive steps to bridge this widening gap by engaging in a sincere dialogue with aggrieved party members.

He stressed that fostering peace, reconciliation, and solidarity within the party is essential to strengthening its foundation and ensuring long-term stability.

A major concern raised in the letter was the perceived neglect of key campaign contributors, many of whom, according to Kolawole, have been sidelined in the appointment process.

He argued that while grassroots mobilizers and party foot soldiers who worked tirelessly to ensure the party’s success have been abandoned, others with mere political connections have secured lucrative positions in government.

To rectify this, Kolawole advocated for the revival of a structured reward mechanism that would reinforce the party’s commitment to its loyal members.
